Observations by Doug Rugh, a classically trained artist based on Cape Cod,Massachusetts. (Overwrought penumbras, tangential tales and meager conundrums diffused through the squinting oculus of a shade arranger.)

DOUG RUGH, CM studied the methods and materials of the masters before graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design with honors. In 2006 the artist was granted the designation, "Copley Master" by the Copley Society, after winning five major awards and acceptance in juried shows with work representing all three areas of portraiture, still-life and landscape painting. The artist maintains studios with his artist wife, Hillary Osborn, on Cape Cod. They both believe that is important for artists to work from life rather than photographs. More information about the artists including visiting the studio, exhibitionsand artwork can be found on their web sites.
